Honeywell

ASG is a $80 Million revenue Global Organization, providing Airside Technology for Airports - runway lighting and airplane guidance systems for arrival at the gate are the major products.

The project is a Global SAP deployment driving Common Process across the Honeywell ACS (Automation and Controls Solutions) Business. ACS operates one solution for 5 Businesses within ACS, this include Solutions (project based delivery), Service, Manufacturing and Logistics, plus all back office functions and Finance.

ASG (Honeywell Airport Systems GmbH) is currently projects based with manufacturing processes in Germany (mainly assembly with many Manufacturing processes outsourced to specifications owned and managed by ASG). The Organization is currently operating SAP on an obsolete (soon unsupported) SAP platform. ASC is currently upgrading the ACS solution to ERP 6.0 version of SAP.

The project is to migrate ASG to the Global Solution, the project has managed the GAP analysis and is moving through the Solution Validation Phase prior to system configuration and data load etc.

The project has completed a Pilot (UK in April 2007 - 4 businesses, 2 factories) and at the end of February 2008 deployed 2 more UK factories and an additional Service Organization. There are running approx 14 parallel deployment projects in the Central Region - ASG is one of these.

The Global Team provides functional design/configuration and support, data load capabilities etc and drives overall delivery via the 'prescribed' methodology.

The current Project Manager at ASG is the Finance Lead, he has a team of Super Users on site, all part time. The work load to drive through the phases of Data Cleansing/Load, Testing/Training etc is too much for the current lead.

PROSOL IT was asked to offer support for the position as a Site Project Lead. The Site Project Lead is responsible for coordinating all resources and activities associated with the CP/S UK Project for a site.

The Site Project Lead:

promotes the value and approach of the CP/S program,
aligns implementation scope with site business priorities,
builds consensus within the site and alignment with the Functional Implementation Lead,
manages site resources and ensures sufficient business resource capacity to complete tasks as needed,
manages the project plan and critical path as it pertains to the site to ensure key dates and deliverables are met,
provides business project status,
facilitates two way communication between business and project team,
provides input to the global communications plan and executes the plan for the ASG sites,
coordinates business input and review and facilitates discussions with the ASG Management Team,
is responsible for change management within the site based on global and local change management strategies and activities,
responsible for issue resolution relating to the deployment of the common processes and systems in the ASG deployment,
assists the site VCCT coordination activities related to VCCT for the business,
performs site cutover planning,
evaluates site readiness for cutover and drives “go/no-go” decision making,
ensures that local systems that are required for VCCT are available,
ensures that local infrastructure is ready for CP/S (network, printers etc),
ensure that all users that are required to be users at the moment of cutover are trained,
cutover contingency planning.
